Impressive Portobello under-14s are through to the semi-finals of the Inspiresport Scottish Cup after their 9-0 thrashing of Blairgowrie & Rattray.

There was no stopping Porty at Meggetland as they overran their visitors to secure their place in the last four. The hosts played into the wind in the opening half, which would perhaps explain why they only took a two-goal lead into half-time break after goals from Bailey McKenzie and Robbie Peffers.

With the wind behind them in the second half, Porty ran out of sight. Lewis Moore’s corner-kick was headed in by Peffers for his second of the afternoon and the home side’s third. Peffers was soon celebrating his hat-trick, and in some style too, after a swift move ended with Brandon McDonald splitting open the defence before he fed his team-mate to find the far corner of the net.

McDonald volleyed in number five, before Evan Bonar crossed in for McDonald again to net his brace.

McKenzie scored two quick goals of his own to increase their lead to eight, and there was still time for one more as Lennon Muir arrowed a terrific strike of his own into the net.

Hutchie Vale 15s in Scottish Cup semis

Ryan Findlay had Hutchie ahead at the interval with his strike from 25 yards out and they continued to enjoy the better of the play after the break.

Mason Renton’s through ball for Jamie Purdie put him one-on-one with the home goalkeeper and he slotted into the net, before James Clare was brought down in the box and Jamie McLeod converted a penalty.

16s also through to last four

Hutchie Vale 16s joined their club mates by booking their place in last four of their competition with a 3-0 home defeat of Hampden BC.

After a goalless opening half, Jacob Comerford opened the scoring after team-mate Jake Houten played him in.

Buba Jammeh netted from Matty Dalglish’s corner-kick to make it two, before Hutchie left the best until last after a five player move ended with Lewis Foster playing in Houten who finished expertly.

Lochend 16s post emphatic win over Cuikie

Lochend 16s were emphatic 7-1 winners over Penicuik Athletic in Division B, with Jack Ryan and Jamie Mason both netting hat-tricks, while George Nairn also got himself on the scoresheet in a resounding victory to keep them in touch with league leaders Currie Star Colts.
