Zoe Taylor, who plays her football with Bonnyrigg Rose Girls under 13s, was picked to be part of a Scotland regional squad before sport was put on hold due to coronavirus.

But rather than sitting idle at home, the 11-year-old has been focusing on teaching herself new skills and is turning heads with her talents.

Proud mum Lea caught Zoe’s efforts on camera as she notched up an incredible 320 keepy uppies - a new personal best.

She’s making sure that when football can return, and she can join up with her team mates at Bonnyrigg and Scotland again, she’ll hit the ground running.

Lea said: “Zoe’s been picked for Scotland’s south east regional team under 12s.

“It’s a programme run by the SFA but it hasn’t been able to take off.

“There was training from January to March and they were due to play south west Scotland, north east Scotland and those teams but then everything has had to be cancelled.”

Like other sports, players are trying to do what they can on lockdown, and for Zoe, who attends Bonnyrigg Primary, that means either practicing alone or as part of unique training sessions.

“She’s been doing that amount of keepy uppies for a while,” said her mum.

“They’ve also been doing a keepy uppie challenge with the other girls in the SFA.

“She’s making good use of her time while there’s plenty of space and nice weather.”
