In a game of few chances, it was the home side who bagged the points. Newtongrange had travelled to Tayside looking to bounce back from last week’s shock defeat at the hands of bottom side Tayport but again they lacked penetration. The only goal of the game came in the 35th minute when Stewart McCunnie ran on to a through ball and finished well.

Broxburn secured a second comeback in succession thanks to a Nick Locke double. Adamson was causing problems down the right wing and, in 14 minutes, he outstripped the home defence and cut inside to fire past Maley. Locke got the equaliser just on half-time when good play from the Broxburn youngsters Nimmo and Lochrie set him up to fire home. The winner came halfway through the second half when a Kieron Anderson free-kick was floated into the box from the left and Locke outjumped everybody to nod over the keeper from 16 yards.

There was a lack of chances for either side before Bo’ness midfielder Ross Philp was fouled just inside the box by Luke McGeehan. Will Snowdon stepped up to open the scoring. Nicky Walker then missed two opportunities to stretch the lead. Carnoustie equalised on 74 minutes when John Miller nodded home a Steven Cook cross. Miller received a red card in injury time.

Penicuik opened brightly and took the lead in the seventh minute through a McCallum header from a Gay corner and added to their lead in the 31st when Somerville’s cute back-heeler from eight yards found the back of the net. Tayport hit back and Tulleth scored with a close-range effort four minutes later. The second half saw the visitors capitulate and Tulleth got his second with 20 minutes to go before Adam grabbed a double in the final ten minutes to give bottom club Tayport a second successive win.

There were under three minutes on the clock when Lewis Baker rose to head in a cross from the right. Barely two minutes later, it was 2-0 in the Swifts’ favour when Chris McLeish hit a shot on the turn past Liam Amos. The stunned Hi Hi recovered to pull a goal back through Paul Devlin in the eighth minute, and the same player struck from the penalty spot to draw the scores level 17 minutes in after Arran Ponton was fouled. On 24 minutes, Haddington went ahead when Ponton capitalised on a defensive slip and drilled a low shot beyond Swifts keeper Mitchell from just outside the box. Baker came close to equalising six minutes from the break when his header came back off the face of the crossbar. A second home penalty five minutes after the break allowed Devlin to complete his hat-trick, and the game’s final goal also came from the spot, this time from Swifts’ Danny Kelly on 64 minutes. Haddington held on, though, for their first home win in four attempts since mid-November.

Easthouses were hit for six by promotion-chasing Tranent, who produced one of their best performances of the season. It only took four minutes for the opener to come when a superb strike from Kenny Fisher flew past visiting keeper John Falconer. But it was striker Kenny McMillan who stole the show with a hat-trick of superb goals before half-time. Midway through the second half, some adept footwork from Stephen Manson – followed by a pin-point cross – made it easy for Joe Miller to add a fifth. And it was Manson himself who capped the rout scoring direct from a free-kick in the last minute.
