Burgh boss Stevie McLeish continued to shuffle the pack on Saturday just a month away from his side’s Scottish Junior Cup final against Auchinleck.

It was proving to be an even contest early on with plenty of midfield action but less so in goalmouth action, with Ryan Gay hitting a chance too high before Graeme Beveridge set up Steven Thomson but the ball wouldn’t settle for the home striker. Scott McCulloch too saw his drive for goal blocked.

But on 36 minutes Musselburgh broke the deadlock as a headed pass from Michael Hunter picked out Steven Thomson who showed composure to shoot past Cuikie keeper Youssef Bejaoui for the home side to take the lead.

Penicuik in reply saw Ryan Gay hit the home post in 40 minutes from a free kick then an excellent save by Bejaoui at the other end kept Jed Davie at bay.
