Two sporting events took place last week in Penicuik as part of this year’s Hunter and Lass Festival.
The ladies football seven-a-side tournament took place as usual at Penicuik Park, won by Crescent Snooker Club. And for the first time the 150 plus crowd were entertained by football from Penicuik Athletic’s junior ladies sides and the final of the Hunter and Lass adult men’s final.
Hunter and Lass Festival spokesman Fiona Gibson said: “It was a good event. For a chilly Monday night it was a good turnout. We had a new adult mens seven-a-side tournament this year as we are trying to grow the event and get as many people involved as possible.”
Penicuik Tennis Club were also involved in the Hunter and Lass Festival.
Fiona added: “For the last two years the club has held a tennis competition for Hunter and Lass. They invited the Hunter and Lass up for the tournament so they played a wee bit of tennis while they were there.”
