Leith Athletic 1 - 3 Coldstream: Coldstream on title track

Coldstream travelled to play Leith Athletic at their new home of Meadowbank and left with three points which saw them take a massive step towards the First Division title.

The visitors got of to a flying start when Jonathon Simpson broke into the Leith box and he slotted the ball past the advancing Iain Gordon.

Coldstream’s lead was short lived and within a few minutes Craig Hume had levelled it when he was left unmarked in the box and when the ball was cut back he had the simple task of firing the ball into the net.

Leith had a few more chances but couldn’t capitalise. Martin Tait then scored to put Coldstream back in front, and before the interval the visitors made it three when Lawrie Cannon slotted the ball low in the net

Both side had chances in the second half bout neither could score anymore. Despite the result, Leith will still challenge for promotion.
