Managerless Rose won’t be rushed

LINLITHGOW won’t be rushing to appoint a new manager following Dave Baikie’s departure in the wake of an early exit from the Junior Cup as well as back-to-back Super League defeats.

“We’ve got a wee bit of time to make a decision,” said chairman David Roy as former Hearts midfielder Mark Bradley prepared to take temporary charge for tomorrow’s league trip to high-flying Hill of Beath.

“We’ve had a number of applications but it will probably be next week before we sit down and think it over.

“It won’t be a rush job and Mark will take charge of things until someone is appointed.”

Baikie’s two-and-a-half year reign at Prestonfield came to an end after a 3-1 defeat at Bonnyrigg last weekend.

“Dave and his team have been successful at every club they’ve been at and they were successful here, too, winning every competition expect the Super League,” added Roy.

“We thank Dave for his time at Linlithgow but we just felt a change was needed to try and bring things alive again.”

After drawing with Kelty last weekend, Hill of Beath are lying third in the table, one point behind both Bonnyrigg and Camelon.

Linlithgow are three points behind the Fifers but have a game in hand.
