Easthouses too shuffled the pack in that second half giving a few players a run out but try as they might Dalkeith found the home defence solid enough to deny Thistle a breakthrough.
Newtongrange Star won their first friendly match of the new season on Saturday by 3-1 away at Broadwood Stadium against Cumbernauld, with two Matti King goals and an own goal sealing a fine Star win.
