With the departure of ex-manager Ozzie Osbourne in midweek, Arniston were keen to impress new boss Jock Landells on Saturday.
Arnie were also looking for their first win since October 25 and thankfully they broke that trend and moved up to fourth from bottom, so they are still just in the relegation quartet but at least moving in the right direction.
It was a better display by Arniston, but the red card issued to the Bathgate goalkeeper put his team under pressure.
A lively game was played from end to end with a first shot on target by Bathgate which home ’keeper Dale Cornet saved comfortably.
Arniston retaliated and a good move down the right was switched left and a strong low shot from 18 yards by Kevin Moffat beat the visiting ’keeper to open the scoring with ten minutes played.
Minutes later, an Arniston corner was well saved again by the Bathgate goalkeeper while at the other end Dale Cornet did well to keep his team just ahead come the half-time whistle!
