Newtongrange Star have launched a new youth development academy, based at their recently installed 3G astro turf pitch.
The ambitious academy is led by the club’s director of football David Glodek, who wants the club have teams from age six up to 21.
Speaking at last week’s enrolment of 19 young players to the academy, David Glodek said: “We are grateful to the Star officials for giving us a fantastic opportunity of setting up the youth development academy at New Victoria Park.
“The turnout of children and parents tonight was hugely encouraging and the first step towards an exciting and successful future for the academy and the club.”
