Ross Allum is late hero for Edinburgh City

ROSS ALLUM'S last-gasp extra-time strike at East Kilbride sent Edinburgh City into the last four of the South Challenge Cup.

The home side dominated in the first half but could not score. Jack Smith came closest to breaking the deadlock on after the interval.

City pummelled the home goal in the final 15 minutes, Allum and Dougie Gair forcing Kean into two brilliant saves, but the tie went into extra time. Defences were again on top, with Stobie’s excellent stop denying Ross Smith in 103 minutes.

With penalties looming, Stobie launched the ball well into the East Kilbride half. Allum collected it, outpaced his marker and lobbed Kean to score with the final kick of the match.
