Penicuik High School’s senior boys’ football team is bursting with pride at reaching the final of the Scottish Schools Shield competition.
The S5/s6 players booked their place in the national final witha 3-2 win over Strathaven Academy last week.
They will play Notre Dame High School following Monday night’s other semi final. The date and venue of the final have yet to be announced.
Penicuik PE teacher Craig Hunter said the team was benefitting from having two year groups with a pool of strong footballers.
“I also think the way the boys have played together has shown a never say die attitude. They have been behind in a couple of ties and fought back to the end,” he added.
