Whitehill Welfare’s season ended in disappointment on Saturday with a home defeat against East of Scotland side Lothian Thistle.
The Lowland League’s top scorer Aaron Somerville had the game’s first chance but he shot over from a tight angle.
Just before the half hour mark a Lothian corner was met by the unmarked Grant Munro at the near post and he headed past Bryan Young to open the scoring.
Whitehill went immediately in search of an equaliser, however Wayne Sproule’s excellent cross somehow evaded Wayne McIntosh and Steven Manson shot over at the back post.
Lothian led at the break and as Whitehill pushed for a goal in the second half they were wary of conceding a second at the other end against a side full of running.
