Penicuik, looking to get back to winning ways, started brightly at Penicuik Park last Saturday but were dealt a hammer blow early on.
In the third minute defender Dougie Cunnison sliced his attempt at a clearance straight to Ben Antony whose shot was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Bejaoui, but Adamson coolly stroked the rebound into the empty net.
In the tenth minute, a high ball out of defence caught Penicuik out and only a superb save by Bejaoui denied the visitors a second goal. Then, on the half-hour, Penicuik’s McCallum’s header from a corner kick was cleared off the goal line.
Next, in the 33rd minute, following good work by McCulloch, Ryan Gay produced a spectacular scissors kick, but ’keeper Hall was well placed to save.
Just before half-time, danger man Adamson was again in action beating two Penicuik defenders only to see his strike clip the top of the crossbar as the Hawes took the break 1-0 up.
Two minutes into the second half, Ryan McCallum’s header from a Janczyk cross went inches wide. Then a free kick to Hill of Beath was taken by Moffat, but it went narrowly wide of the Penicuik post. Minutes later, a Janczyk corner kick was headed powerfully in by McCallum but Hall managed to beat the ball away when a goal seemed certain.
The three points looked settled in the 54th minute when Bryce latched on to the ball just inside the Penicuik half.
