Ten-man Welfare push hard

Whitehill Welfare 1Berwick Rangers Reserves 2

Whitehill’s chances were compromised in the opening minutes when Scott Gormley was sent off for an off-the-ball incident. A few minutes later Berwick took the lead, Sam Todd was fouled on the edge of the box and Steven Notman’s powerful free kick sneaked into the top corner leaving the keeper with no chance.

Notman again threatened with a free kick but Mark Wilson pushed the ball away and the danger was cleared. However, Berwick did double their lead when Steven Finlayson broke down the wing and he crossed to find Greg Smith who delicately headed the ball over the keeper. .
