Promotion-chasing Dalkeith completed a league double over Forfar at King’s Park last Saturday in a game of two halves.

Thistle hit the 40-point mark with seven crucial games remaining.

They raced into a deserved 3-1 half time lead but it was Forfar who dominated the second half.

However, the West Enders just could not score until a late penalty gave them some little consolation as Dalkeith held out for the narrow crucial victory.

During a positive start, Thistle opened the scoring in the fifth minute when David Liddle diverted a wayward Paul Tansey shot into the Forfar net.
