Easthouses Lily sit in fourth place in the South League some six points behind leaders Tranent following last Saturday’s results.
Easthouses entertained Livingston United in this league encounter at a very sunny Newbattle Complex in front of a very healthy crowd.
In just the second minute the Lily’s Graeme Young found himself through on goal but he screwed his shot just wide of the far post. Good play down the right hand side by Steve Barrie in the 23rd minute with his cross finding Lily captain Euan Smith right on the penalty spot but his low shot was well saved by Livingston keeper Mark MacArthur who had an excellent game again pulling of another great save from a ferocious Gary Shearer effort in the 40th minute. Livingston forward Jordan Thomson hit the crossbar in the 44th minute.
Easthouses kicked off the second half and Young went through on goal but this time his shot was well saved by MacArthur. Shearer thought he had given the Lily the lead in the 52nd minute only for that MacArthur to pull of another great save. But he was beaten by his own defender Craig Russell who mis-judged a long throw from Lily winger Barrie and his header found the back of the net in the 54th minute to put the Lily 1-0 up.
But two minutes later a mistake by Lily defender Gordon Wilson allowed Russell to equalise.
Livingston were reduced to ten men in the 70th minute but this only seemed to bond them and that man MacArthur kept out goal scoring efforts from Shearer and Young.
All these missed chances came back to haunt the Lily as in the 93rd minute Livingston broke away and scored, Thomson heading in at the back post to take all three points back along the M8.
