German rider Kevin Wolbert axed by Edinburgh Monarchs
Wolbert, who rejoined the Capital speedway club two years ago after an unhappy campaign at Glasgow Tigers, said he was “disappointed” by the decision.
Confirming his exit from Armadale on his Facebook page, Wolbert said: “I have not been offered a contract by Edinburgh for 2017. I’m disappointed that they are planning their team without me, but that’s business. I would like to thank all the Monarchs fans for their support and hopefully I will find a spot with another club for next season.”

Hide AdIt’s understood Monarchs have already moved to replace Wolbert, who could be frustratingly inconsistent on occasions and this may well have been a factor in releasing him.
Meanwhile, skipper Sam Masters has rejoined Danish side Region Varde and has also linked up again with Swedish outfit Lejonen for 2017.
But Masters, who won the Elite League title with Wolverhampton this season and is keen to double-up again next season, still has not confirmed if he will lead Monarchs once again.
