Good show by Lasswade’s S2s

Hawick Albion S2 9, Lasswade S2 13

LASSWADE S2s had a terrific away win in the Borders on Sunday against Hawick Albion.

It was their first game since November, so there were a few cobwebs to blow off on a chilly but bright sunny day.

From the off, Hawick set their stall out as tough and aggressive tacklers, but Lasswade matched them hit for hit. The rucks were fiercely competitive throughout the game as both teams scrapped for possession.

The visitors won the toss and Harry Gladstone kicked off to start the long-awaited game. It wasn’t long before Swade were behind and within the first few minutes, Hawick broke the Lasswade defence to score in the corner but their conversion was unsuccessful.

Within minutes, Lasswade retaliated and looked like scoring a few times. Cameron Watt made a strong powerful run to go in for the visitors’ first points. Martin Jones converted.
