Grange keeper Hadfield will be looking to pull out all the stops again

SEAN HADFIELD will again be in the firing line as Grange bid to continue their indoor hockey education at the two-day Grove Menzieshill Invitational tournament from tomorrow.

Hadfield produced a string of superb saves as Grange emerged unbeaten from three key Division One games last weekend at Perth. Now the 19-year-old goalkeeper will face Inverleith, the Division One leaders, Dundonian hosts Grove, who are the reigning
indoor champions, and the Scottish under-21 side.

Hadfield could have played for the under-21 side as he is part of their programme but had earlier given the nod to Grange who are developing a young indoor squad. He earned plaudits for his performances last Saturday, including a brilliant stop, arching his back to claw the ball to safety from behind him in the draw with Inverleith. He said: “We decided to compete in the Grove event to keep us sharp for the re-start of the indoor season.”

Inverleith have drafted in
Olympian Stephen Dick, Great Britain squad player Chris Grassick and Scotland goalkeeper Allan Dick, who all play in England.
