Hockey: University all set for highest-ever finish

The students beat Uddingston Riva 3-2 on Saturday and followed up with a 4-1 win against bottom club MJV Dundee Wanderers on Sunday. Meanwhile, Grange drew 3-3 with Western Wildcats to confirm third place in the ten-strong league and secure their place in the end-of-season play-offs alongside Bromac Kelburne, Grove Menzeshill and Western.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh University’s women only picked up four points in their quest to retain the Division One title. They were held 3-3 by a plucky MJV Dundee Wanderers side at Peffermill on Sunday after claiming a 7-0 victory over city rivals Watsonians on Saturday.

The students play Erskine Stewart’s Melville in their final league game this Saturday.
