Midlothian got into the Spartan spirit recently for the world’s leading obstacle race, Reebok Spartan Race, at Spittal Farm, near Penicuik.
The farm hosted the weekend-long event, with a 5km sprint on the Saturday and a 13km “super” race on the Sunday. The sprint event included 15 obstacles and was a great introduction for anyone new to obstacle course racing.
The super, with its longer distance and 20 obstacles, provided the perfect challenge for those wanting to take their fitness to the next level.
Commenting on the events at Spittal Farm, Joe De Sena, founder and CEO of Reebok Spartan Race, said: “We’re incredibly proud of all those that competed over the weekend – the event was a huge success and it was such a beautiful setting!
“Spartan isn’t just a race, it’s a lifestyle. We don’t just see our racers on the start line, we work with them from their sign-up all the way through to race day in order to encourage a real lifestyle change!”
