It’s a knockout for the ref at Dalkeith

Dalkeith v Glenrothes
Dalkeith v Glenrothes

AFTER a superb performance in winning the Moffat 10-aside tournament two weeks ago, Dalkeith played their one and only XV-a-side warm-up match this season prior to the start of the league next week.

The game against Glenrothes RFC kicked off in near perfect conditions and Dalkeith, playing “down the hill”, with their lighter, faster pack, were quite happy to take the game to the opposition.

Scrum half Davy Walker spotted a glaring gap in the Glenrothes line and quickly took advantage, putting Dalkeith on the front foot.

A quickly-taken tap penalty by Mikey Davidson allowed the forwards to crash it close to the line where quick recycling and good hands allowed Paul Clugston to score. The conversion was missed but Dalkeith were leading 5-0.
