Jamie McLeary denies host pro Law in East Alliance at Uphall
Out in the first match, Law was three-over after three in the early-morning frost before hitting back to card a level-par 69. But his hopes of a victory on home soil were dashed when Tour pro McLeary came in later in the day with a 67.
That was matched by a net effort from Harburn five-handicapper Robin Cockburn but the Alliance Trophy went to Dalmahoy-attached McLeary by virtue of a better inward nine of 33 versus 34.5.

Hide AdMcLeary’s scratch score was the best on the day by a shot, pipping Cameron Adam (Harburn), Chris Curran (Bathgate) and Chris Morris (Kingsknowe).
Cockburn’s consolation was the top handicap prize, beating Baberton’s Gordon Brown also by a shot. Top trainee was James Dick (Duddingston) on 70 while the senior spoils were shared on 71 by four players, including Alliance veteran Stuart Wardlaw from Harburn.
Winterfield stages the season’s penultimate outing next Wednesday.
