On a glorious sunny Sunday afternoon, Lasswade played hosts to visitors from across the border, Morpeth.
The away team piled on the pressure from the start, but Lasswade were defending well, and a break from their own half saw Cami McVicker tackled at the last minute. Morpeth came back and Jack Gilchrist saved an almost certain try.
However, the visitors’ persistence paid off when they scored in the corner, and followed this up with a further two tries with one conversion.
Morpeth looked like they were going to run away with it, but Scott Muir kicked a loose ball toward the Morpeth end and managed to get to the ball before the opposition, kicked again gathered the ball on the line and scored a great, unconverted, try.
