Loanhead top the league

Wester Hailes 1, Loanhead Parish 4

Loanhead started the year well, winning away last week 4-1 to Blackhall.

This week, it was Hailes who started the game best, creating a couple of early chances which came to nothing, before Loanhead got the ball down and played some nice passing moves.

Loanhead took the lead in the 22nd minute, with Graham Hare the scorer.

Hailes equalised in the 35th minute, but Loanhead started the second half fired up, and soon took total control of the game.

It was only a matter of time before they took the lead and what a good goal, Neil Mabbott stroking the ball home.

Centre half Livingstone rose well to smash an unstoppable header home for Loanhead’s third, before Parish keeper Richards made a great save. Mark McNally then sent a cheeky chip into the far corner of the net to make the final score 1-4.

Another commanding performance from the parish, who now sit top of the league with four games left.
