A MIDLOTHIAN swimmer is going for gold at the Paralympic Games.
Sean Fraser, from Loanhead, finished second and less than half a second behind GB team-mate Thomas Young in Tuesday morning’s heat of the S8 100m backstroke competition. The final was due to take place on Tuesday evening, after the Advertiser went to press.
Sean took bronze in the same event in Beijing four years ago, and there were high hopes that he could win a place on the podium.
He is also due to race in the heats of the 100m freestyle on Thursday (9.30am-12.40pm) and may feature in the 4x100m medley relay on Saturday (11.57am).
