Melville welcomes top riders to meeting

The Melville Race Club welcomes the North Eastern Motorcycle Racing Club to East Fortune this weekend when they hold the final rounds of their championship.

As usual, the NEMCRC, who are based in the north-east of England, head north with a large entry list and several of the top Scottish racers will also be taking part, including Bruce Birnie, who leads their Open Superbike Championship, the Haddington sidecar team of David Wrinn and Stuart Clark, and Paul McClung, who has a good chance of becoming F125 championl.

There are a large number of sidecar entries for the Express Tyre Challenge and the Mac Hobson Trophy. Sam Hamilton Tyres has donated a substantial prize fund for the winner.

There will be a full programme of races including the Formula 125, Classics, Formula 400, Mini Twins, 600 Superstock, Open 125/1300, Pre-Injection 600/1200, Thunder Bikes and sidecars.

Practice and qualifying will start at 9am on both days, with racing from around 11.30am on Saturday and around 10.30am on Sunday.
