The resumption of the East Region Junior football programme this Saturday is weather dependent but all being well, Midlothian hosts three cracking games at Dalkeith, Newtongrange and Bonnyrigg.
Arniston Rangers heading over the Forth to Fife to tackle Crossgates Primrose in a first round tie in the East of Scotland Cup.
Super League Bonnyrigg Rose will be at New Dundas Park to welcome “first footers” Kelty Hearts while nearby in the Premier League it’s Penicuik Athletic who visit Newtongrange Star at New Victoria Park.
In the South League it’s the “top of the table” clash between hosts Dalkeith Thistle and East Lothian’s Tranent Juniors at King’s Park.
Meanwhile, on Saturday in the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup after their 1-1 draw at Broxburn’s all weather pitch, Whitburn went to Aberdeen for the third round replay against Glentanar where a 2-1 win for Whitburn gives them a fourth round away tie at Super League Kelty Hearts. In their third round replay Armadale Thistle lost at home to Kilsyth by 2-0 so Kilsyth will entertain Arthurlie in the fourth round in a fortnight’s time.
With Bonnyrigg, Arniston and Musselburgh counting the days until January 21 for their own Scottish Cup fourth round ties, one eye is on their opponents’ results too that’s respectively Maybole, Largs Thistle and of course Burgh’s epic Scottish Cup final rematch with holders Auchinleck Talbot at Olivebank.
