Midlothian junior football round-up

SCOTTISH Cup fever will hit Bonnyrigg on Saturday when Bonnyrigg Rose entertain Girvan at New Dundas Park in the first round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Elsewhere in the William Hill Senior Scottish Cup first round, it’s Whitehill Welfare at home to Inverurie Loco Works and Preston Athletic at home to Nairn County.

Last Saturday in the Dechmont Forklift South League Cup, there were wins for both Newtongrange Star (over Dalkeith Thistle) and Arniston Rangers (over Dunbar United) both at home and both by 4-1, while Penicuik Athletic won 4-0 away to Spartans, and Bonnyrigg Rose overcame Broxburn Athletic by 3-1, both teams finishing with 10 men .

This Saturday, Penicuik play their final League Cup Group C game away to Edinburgh United, while in Group D, Arniston are at home to Haddington.

Dalkeith Thistle entertain Musselburgh Athletic at King’s Park, while Newtongrange Star will be away to the seaside to visit Dunbar United.

Bonnyrigg are away to Spartans next Wednesday evening (August 29), while Arniston visit Dalkeith.
