BONNYRIGG pool ace Kevin Rae is celebrating after winning a county-wide contest in the sport.
Kevin (27) scooped the Bob Stirling Trophy at the Midlothian League Handicap Singles, which saw 32 competitors whittled down to one.
Kevin, who works as a DJ, has playing pool since he was given a mini-table at just two-years-old.
“When I got to the knock out stages, I beat some cracking players. The four guys I beat all played at county level.”
The semi-final against Craig Nicol saw Kevin go from 3-1 down to a 4-3 win.
In the final, Kevin went head to head with Colin Simpson, one of his team mates from Penicuik’s Crescent B – currently sitting top of the Midlothian Pool League – and won 4-2.
“I was absolutely delighted. One of the reasons I didn’t expect to win was there were so many fantastic players in the competition.
“It’s my biggest win to date,” Kevin added.
