A Taekwondo coach who has taught the sport to generations of Midlothian fighters has reached a milestone in her career.
Catherine Divine, president of Elite Taekwondo Scotland, has been promoted to seventh degree master.
Master Divine, who has over 30 years experience in Taekwondo and numerous titles from European to World Championship under her belt, is also a dedicated instructor to 200 students who attend her classes in Midlothian and Edinburgh.
Divine, who received her seventh degree on June 2, said: “I feel overwhelmed that not only have I reached this milestone in my career but I am also the first female master in the UITF in the UK.
“I find teaching to all levels and age groups such a rewarding job especially when you see a child come along to their first lesson and over time grow in both ability and confidence and finally achieve black belt.”
