A young Midlothian swimmer picked up an incredible five Scottish Summer Meet gold medals at the Royal Commonwealth Pool at the weekend.
Fraser Wilson was in unstoppable form with gold medal winning performances in the boys 12-13 year old category, 50 and 100 metre butterfly events with a times of 29.27 and 1:05.32. He also won the gold in the 12-13 year old 50 metre, 100 metre and 200 metre backstroke events with times of 31.55,1:07.03, and 2.25.48, nearly two seconds ahead of his nearest rival.
Not content with this haul of gold medals he also won silver medals in the 50 metre freestyle, 100 metre freestyle event and 200 metre freestyle.
Midlothian’s Beth McFarlane and Matt Rietvelt were also in action at the event.
Midlothian head coach, Colin Barton said: “The standard of competition was high and our swimmers acquitted themselves very well.”
