Eskvale’s gloomy start to the season continued as Alloa visited Midlothian’s only hockey team on Saturday.

Vale conceded straight from the pushback as a warward pass was easily intercepted, and after a few passes were exchanged by Alloa, they slotted home in the first minute.

Eskvale suffered a torrid time in the first half, with poor passing breaking down most of their forward play. They were dealt a blow midway in the half when winger Keith MacNeil took a ball to the head and had to sit out the rest of the half.

Alloa made it 2-0 before half time and Eskvale deserved nothing less.
