Penicuik golf star Jane Turner has headed ‘down-under’ for warm weather training
Robert Gordon University student and RGU: SPORT scholar, Jane Turner (21), is living the Aussie dream with a two-month warm weather training opportunity’.
The current British Universities Ladies golf champion is in Perth, Australia, training at the Joondalup Golf Resort – one of the country’s top courses – in preparation for the packed 2011 season.
The third-year graphic design student flew to Perth in January to undertake a warm weather training programme that will run through to March 13. Far from being an excuse to escape the bitter North-east weather, her programme comprises an intense schedule of fitness and endurance building plus further development of her golf technique and precision.
“I’m delighted to have been offered such a fantastic training opportunity,” enthused Jane, who is originally from Penicuik.
