Bonnyrigg jockey Holly Harper (20) recently won her first race, as her career continues to go from strength to strength.
After winning three “point to point” (steeplechase) races in four races last year, the former Lasswade High pupil won her first National Hunt “under rules” race recently, a Hunter Chase at Wetherby, on her horse Radharc Na Mara Rad.
Holly, who attended the British Racing School in Newmarket, has worked in Alnwick as a stable lass for Rose and Tony Dobins (former grand national winner) since August 2012. This season she took out her amateur jockey licence and in December had her first ride, finishing fourth at Catterick.
