The Lightning Rod World Final is heading to Cowdenbeath Racewall for the 2014 season – the first time the event has been held in Scotland.

It was confirmed last week that the Final will take place in Fife, with plenty of local interest in the event already.

Scottish driver Frankie Cunningham (Galashiels) will be delighted, as will Paul Winfield (Livingston), Gary Nicholls (Carluke) and Dougie Kidd (Dalkeith), who will be keen to do well.

Kidd in his first season in the Lightning Rods showed up well, winning a few races from the white grade before progressing through the grades to become a red grade driver. Even from the back of the grid, Kidd was to figure prominently in the results and will certainly be looking forward to the World Championship next year.
