Young boxer Scott Brown is dreaming of Commonwealth glory.
While his friends tuck into a fish supper, the 14-year-old opts for a healthier option.
But the Pathhead teenager doesn’t see the strict diet and busy training schedule as a sacrifice as he pursues a career in the sport he loves.
“It’s alright actually,” he told the Advertiser. “I still go out with my friends.”
As well as the usual teenage pursuits, the St David’s High School pupil balances school work with five or six training sessions a week – from light weights sessions to running and sparring – as well as bouts across the UK.
Scott travels to Glasgow for the specialist training but a lack of local facilities means he has to travel to gyms around the country to pursue his sport.
