Dalkeith travelled to the Borders on Saturday to face Hawick Linden buoyed by two good wins in their opening fixtures in East 1.
Dalkeith began brightly and immediately had Linden pinned in their 22, before a quick tap after a Linden infringement saw flanker Dahlstrom charging over for an early score, 0-7, with the conversion. Linden attacked the restart and were gifted with a penalty just outside the Dalkeith 22, which was duly converted to make it 3-7.
Another try for the visitors looked certain at this point and the referee caught the under pressure home backs offside and awarded a penalty just inside the home 22. Clugston converted to extend Dalekith’s lead 3-10.
The visitors then stole Linden’s line-out ball, before Duke kicked ahead behind the home defence, the home cover still had lots of time and space to make things safe, but chose to kick the ball straight to Ramsay in midfield who fed Hamilton coming into the line wide at pace and the fullback then outstripped the home defence for a second Dalkeith try, 3-17 with the conversion.
