Bonnyrigg’s Michael Leslie ensured he would finish top of his group, with a 100 per cent record, as he qualified for the last 32 stage of the European Snooker Championships being held in Bulgaria.
He reached the next stage of the tournament on Monday with a 4-1 defeat of Andrei Orzan (Romania).
Leslie (18) started slowly losing the first frame but won the next three frames comfortably to open up a 3-1 lead.
Leslie saved his best till last making a magnificant 125-break in the final frame. The group stages will finished on Tuesday with Perth’s Bobby Cruikshanks hoping to join Leslie. Paul Jamieson (Dumfries) is seeded through to the last 16 of the Masters event after winning his group.
