It was a chilly evening at the Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday night, although a spectacular fireworks display certainly lit up the track.
The ministox drivers were as usual in good form with Jiggy Miller up from England, whilst the only local driver to be participating was Arran Riddell (Loanhead).
There was a big turn out of prostox, including Ryan Abernethy from Northern Ireland whilst the local drivers were Kai McNulty (Gorebridge), Dougie Kidd (Dalkeith), Fraser Anderson (Dalkeith) and Tam Melrose (Dalkeith).
Heat two was not long underway before a blown engine caused disaster, with cars sliding into each other as they hit the oil slick.
However, McNulty somehow managed to find a line between the wrecked cars and the wall to win.
The saloon drivers were busy trying out tyres for the forthcoming season, with Ryan Wright from Northern Ireland on track .
Several local drivers were also in action – namely Gordon Alexander (Bonnyrigg), Stuart Drobinski (Tranent) and Robin Copland (Gorebridge).
The 2012 season is now over and done with, and the contractors are moving in to work on the kerbs and the track resurfacing for next year.
