Roslin pensioner Jim Inglis has joined a special group of golfers who have achieved the Holy Grail of the sport – a hole in one.
However, Jim has managed this feat a total of nine times in his playing career.
The 70-year-old’s most recent success was at the end of July while playing at Glencorse Golf Club’s seniors’ competition.
“It was the 11th hole, 211 yards, par three,” explained Jim. “The burn goes along the right hand side so you’ve got to keep the ball a wee bit left.
“It just happened to be one of those shots. It came in, bounced up the green and into the hole.”
And how did the rest of the round fare? “Not so good actually. It was the one highlight,” he admitted.
His hole in one means retired civil servant, who lives in Moat View, has gained membership of the exclusive BOSS Watches H1 Club and received specially-commissioned, commemorative watch.
