Rugby: Burgeoning Colts bid to seal Under-18 title

Colts captain Liam Black hopes to keep the Boroughmuir conveyor belt flowing as his side bids to secure the Edinburgh Under-18 league title tomorrow

The second-row is entitled to high hopes that ’Muir will get the win they need in the concluding fixture at Biggar having already beaten those opponents twice this season.

Black says: “All colts are made to feel part of an organisation that is producing the likes of Harry Leonard and Nick Fraser for Scotland age-group teams – there’s a big incentive to follow them. We are unbeaten in all ten games and, having only managed a draw in four meetings with Musselburgh last season, it was a sign of progress that we recently beat them 31-12.”

Black and Harry Maule tasted second-team action last week, while Jordan Edwards, Damian Hoyland, Harry Smith, Euan Smith and Alastair Fraser are also making a mark.
