Rugby: Edinburgh to give Sep Visser a taste of the big time at Sale Sharks

Wing wizard Tim Visser has welcomed younger brother Sep to an extended Edinburgh Rugby squad for the opening pre-season friendly away to Sale Sharks tomorrow. Visser, jnr, is among five players listed as “other substitutes” but if he makes an appearance then last season’s top try scorer Tim feels his sibling will take the occasion in his stride.

Speaking of a player who has been attached to Boroughmuir to gain further experience Tim says: “Sep has played at a good level in England and been exposed to Aviva Premiership A games with Newcastle.

“Sep has a lot to learn but he is doing well for his age and will definitely do well with Boroughmuir.

“I watched him play for Boroughmuir against Dundee and Watsonians in a tournament last weekend and he scored two tries. I know the management were watching, too.”

Edinburgh coach Michael Bradley acknowledges Sep is on his radar.

He said: “Sep has trained a lot with us and we watched him at the weekend. Like his brother he has a nose for the try-line.”
