Rugby: Lasswade boost for Boroughmuir clash

Lasswade will go into Saturday’s RBS Cup clash with Boroughmuir at Hawthornden in high spirits after halting their losing run with a fine 32-17 win at home to GHA in Premiership Division Three.

Prop Dale Robertson was the unlikely hero, taking his try tally to six for the season with a hat-trick of touchdowns and Gavin Brown claimed the other, as well as slotting three conversions and a penalty, while Nick Wood also booted a three pointer as Dave Cockburn’s men posted their first success in five starts.

Elsewhere, there was also an upturn in fortunes for Haddington, who were 20-15 winners after a tight encounter with Ardrossan Accies at Neilson Park.
