Midlothian-based Salters FC are taking on a team of Hibernian Legends later this month in a special charity match.
The game, to be held on the Poltonhall 3G pitch at 7.30pm on Friday, October 28, has been organised by Salters to raise funds for three-year-old Hannah Fee, who suffers from Spastic Deplegia Cerebral Palsy.
Hannah’s family, from Gracemount, are trying to raise £40,000 to take her to the USA for a life-changing operation.
Hannah’s mum, Kirsty, works at Sainsbury’s, Straiton.
Although Salters AFC have taken part in charity events in the past, this is the first they have organised themselves and will be the first annual JSBTravel.com charity fundraiser.
The club would like to thank the Hibernian Legends for agreeing to play, along with Bonnyrigg Leisure Centre, Lasswade Rugby Club and the referee and assistants for their support.
Paul Milligan from Salters said: “A lot of the players and staff have children and we are absolutely delighted to be able to help Hannah.”
