Dunfermline City II 3
Eskvale’s men travelled over the bridge to face the newly-formed team Dunfermline City II last week hoping to improve on a couple of poor results in recent weeks.
The team from Midlothain started brightly and had the home side pegged back for most of the first half, but failed to convert any of their many chances.
Midfielder John McCrossan came closest with a clever lifted effort that just cleared the crossbar.
The second period was a much more balanced affair, and Eskvale were caught cold after a triple substitution as Dunfermline scored two goals in less than two minutes.
Rookie keeper Bryn Tennent was on hand to beat away a further two efforts before the visiting defence managed to settle down.
Eskvale threatened a comeback as Iain Scott scored his first of the season to reduce the deficit to one goal, but it was not long before the home side hit back and made it 3-1 from a tight angle.
Grant Rolland scored another for the visiters to set up a photo finish, but the match petered out with few chances created in the closing stages.
Man of match: Craig Murray
