Tennis: City stars win Scots slot

A STRING of Edinburgh tennis players have had outstanding seasons recognised with inclusion in various Scotland teams for the annual triangular internationals against Ireland and Wales at the Lansdowne club, Dublin, from September 9-11.

Edinburgh provide both senior women’s representatives in Craiglockhart’s Mhairi Brown, and Emma Devine from David Lloyd (Newhaven).

Flying the flag for the men is Alan MacDonald of Thistle alongside London’s Jason Barnet. It is at junior level that the Capital’s role in producing an exciting stream of talent becomes clear. Euan McIntosh, a member of the East senior county team, lines up for the under-18 boys while in the under-14 and under-12 girls there are call ups for Millie Stretton and Alexandra Hunter.
