Robert MacIntyre, sitting 17th in the global standings, will be trying to help Argyll & Bute lift the title while 25th-ranked Connor Syme is in the Fife line-up. Lothians had hoped to have Scotland’s top-ranked player – world No.12 Grant Forrest – in their ranks for an event taking place on home soil.

But the Craigielaw star is playing in this week’s Challenge Tour event in France as he prepares for an imminent switch to the paid ranks. Bidding to try and overcome his absence is a team comprising of Brunstfield Links duo Eric McIntosh and Stuart McLaren, Callum Hill (Tantallon), Euan McIntosh (Turnhouse), Lee Morgan (Broomieknowe) and Jordyn Rhind (Kingsfield).
