Penicuik High School put on a fine performance to win the penultimate high school hockey tournament recently.
The team won four games and drew one to win the festival by 14 points. The side scored 13 goals and thanks to strong defending only let in one goal.
Six teams, representing all the high schools entered the tournament at Dalkeith High and with two pitches in use, it proved to be a busy event. The players appeared to enjoy a return to outdoor hockey after a spell indoors and quickly adapted to the new playing surface.
Penicuik’s win maintains their clean sweep of festivals this season. Newbattle made a successful return to the festival circuit with their A team finishing second and their B team in fourth place.
